Hello, Fairy's Company here and I wanted to go over the donations we've made to Palestine through our Palestine bracelets, overall we've had 27 Etsy orders, 4 TikTok shop orders, and 0 orders on our main website, with that in mind, we have donated to the PCRF and recently to a GoFundMe with the profit we've made.
We are not all bark no bite like some other sketchy creators and sellers, we do care for the people of Palestine and I have donated since the beginning i inquire anyone who buys from a small business who says they are donating to a cause to make sure they show their receipts before you purchase. To be frank it's taken me so long to do this blog because I do not have a spreadsheet made up yet (I know, I know) But I do have a paper where I painstakingly calculated everything (Never wanted to cry so hard) So I'll show the emails from PCRF and the GoFundMe then dive in.
This was our first donation back on 11/28/23 this was from the few Etsy orders we had gotten, So for etsy the breakdown is usually like this, Someone buys something for 3$, alright Etsy takes out transaction fees and whatever they can make up and we are left with 1.97$, well we put 97c in the donated pool and the rest towards more clay bracelets (a pack of clay beads can range from 70c to 4$ depending on how much we buy).
Our next donations are as follows,
So far a few months have passed since I donate again, now that I'm looking back I probably should see how to donate in the company's name, like through Fairy's company and not through me (I'm Joie btw).
Fast forward some months and we get a majority of our orders, we've finally integrated to tik tok shop (tik tok shop is almost as bad as Etsy like I've done a 6$ order and somehow only made 1$ and this is after almost a month, free marketing at the expense of a hellish amount of fee's and waiting)
We donated 25 EUR to a family in Gaza through GoFundMe, and I know what you're thinking this was way back in June it's almost October what's up? I'm going to be real, we haven't been getting any orders, yesterday I got my first order for Palestine bracelets in a while.
So yeah we have donated 46$
I wish it was some crazy amount like a million dollars but it's not. We make most of the donation profits from the 2 for a dollar off. If I raised the price from 3$ to something 12$ we would make way more sure but then people who maybe can't afford 12$ plus shipping wouldn't be able to purchase at all. 3$ is affordable and in often cases the only way for people who support Palestine to show it outside of boycotts and raising awareness on social media. After a year of selling these bracelets and trying to raise awareness do I wish I had more money to show for it? Yes of course but I'm glad that the money I could raise is potentially helping those in need.
